My heart kept hurting And I kept running You knew my deepest secrets My darkest nightmares Could you not give any of your dreams?
All I saw was black With hate With fear With despair All I needed was your love
And I had it For a little while But the daily battles take their toll And I'm too brittle For this anymore
Goodbye, my love I love thee But I love thee enough To let go when it hurts too much
============ I keep channeling Eric Magnus Lensherr aka Magneto from Marvel lately. I'm not sure if it's because he's Jewish, went through the Holocaust, or that I can just understand why he does what he does, although I myself would go in the middle of Xavier and Magneto when it came to actions.
'Sides, can anyone else see the byplay between Charles and Eric? They just scream 'former lovers with scars'! There's just too much love and understanding. I had a friend once that I thought was my best friend, and when we broke over differences of opinion (and a few other things), we did not get along at all.
"NO!" The scream echoed in the dying battle, silencing all who then turned to find what had caused the soul-wrenching pain. Carolyn stood above Eric's body, staring with horror at the wound in his side. When Sinister began to laugh, her head jerked up.
"Enough. This shall come to an end." Her eyes began to glow, and she began to chant. "Daughter of Night, Son of Day. Power of light, Strength of Dark. Sword and Shield, Blood and Soul, Love and Hate. I call on thee, grant me the boon I seek." Her eyes closed slowly as she chanted, then snapped open at the last two words. "This ends."
The building began to shake, as if an earthquake had seized the land; however the ground itself did not shake, so couldn't have been. Carolyn's eyes closed as a wind began to howl and tore itself around the lab.
